The overflow menu, previously known as the ellipsis menu*, shows the commands (belonging to the toolbar’s category) that aren’t shown in the toolbar. The user can customize the toolbar by dragging commands to or from the overflow menu or through Options.

What about a small vertical panel on the left side of the screen where overflow icons can reside, this allows quicker access and makes in more useful for tablet PC users.
